My name is Holly Port and I am the owner of Lotion Bar Cafe in Colorado, and the author of Make It Fizz. What started out as a simple search for homemade Christmas presents blossomed into what it is today. But not without years and years of trials and errors and lots of hard work. Farmers markets were an every week affair, along with doing ‘pop ups’ at other people’s stores.
Doing this yearly for almost 14 years has taught me many tips and tricks to make my life just a bit easier, when trying to manage it all. I had a storefront in the front of my home for many years, and just recently opened my very own brick and mortar store. We host a huge HollyDAY show with over 500 people that come every year. I love traveling and teaching others is my passion.
At the 2020 conference, I’ll show you How to Set Up the Perfect Display to Highlight Your Products.
Rachel Taylor’s love of cosmetics began in high school when she first opened Kevyn Aucoin’s book “Making Faces.” She spent the majority of her earnings from her minimum-wage, ice cream scooping job to acquire the necessary beauty products to complete the makeup looks. She loved seeing makeup as a transformative art and admired Aucoin for seeing the beauty in every person. Over the years, she would practice looks on herself, along with any other willing (and brave!) person.
Hoping to turn her love of makeup into a profession, she studied makeup artistry at Chic Studios in Los Angeles. After completing the program, she began working at Fig & Flower Natural Beauty in Atlanta, GA. In January 2019, she became the official owner and operator of Fig & Flower and has been part of the company for over two years now. Fig & Flower is the perfect marriage of her passions: sustainability, makeup artistry, and wellness.
Her Environmental Economics degree from the University of Georgia initially inspired her to pursue sustainable living and her impact on this planet a top priority. She began researching the ingredients in products and started making the switch to natural beauty items. Her passions for the planet and making people feel beautiful aligns perfectly with Fig & Flower’s green initiative. When she’s not working, she loves going for walks in her hometown of Atlanta, listening to music and podcasts, cooking, reading, cuddling her dog Zoe, spending time with friends, and practicing yoga.
Rachel will join our expert panel of buyers for a Q&A session on Demystifying Wholesale.
